A safe place to talk – about anything on your mind
Helpmate offers emotional support by internally trained helpers, but we do not replace professional therapy. Our helpers are volunteers they want to listen and support you – but they are not trained therapists, psychologists, or doctors.
We cannot help with all problems. Especially with suicidal thoughts, acute crises, or serious mental illnesses, we reach our limits too. In such cases, professional crisis services are the right contact – they are specifically trained for these situations and available around the clock.
If you have suicidal thoughts or are in an acute crisis, please contact immediately:
📞 International Helplines: findahelpline.com
🏥 Or contact your doctor or local emergency services
You don't have to be in a crisis to text us. Helpmate is for everyone – no matter how big or small your concern may seem. No one will ask if your problem is "important enough".
Here you will find a listening ear when everything gets too much. Whether you want to cry, rant, or just talk – our helpers are here to support you through difficult moments.
No waiting lists, no appointments. If you want to talk now, you can start a chat right away. We try to connect you with a helper as quickly as possible – no bureaucracy, no forms.
Because everyone should be able to talk about their thoughts and feelings
You decide how much you want to share. You can remain anonymous, end the conversation at any time, or switch helpers. Your boundaries are always respected.
Your worries matter. Whether it's a difficult relationship, exam stress, bullying, family arguments, or just a weird feeling – nothing is too unimportant to talk about.
Our helpers come from different backgrounds and have various experiences. So you can always find someone who can relate to your situation – whether as a student, professional, parent, or just as a person.
Our community grows every day
No registration required. Start a chat and stay completely anonymous. Not even we know who you are.
Your messages are encrypted with AES-256. No one but you and your helper can read them.
Our helpers are volunteers who are available at different times throughout the day. We strive to be there for you when you need us.
Whether 5 hours or 2 days – you decide how long the conversation lasts. No time pressure, no ticking clock. You end the conversation when you are ready.
Use Helpmate on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Anywhere and anytime.
Helpmate is and will remain free. Mental health should be accessible to everyone.
